Second Installment of Taco Tuesday: Fish Tacos
Sneaky may be my personal favorite taco, the fish taco is truly a piece of art and work of genius all together. It’s the perfect combination of wonderful flavor and typically great presentation paired with a light taste that doesn’t make you regret shoving six tacos into your mouth like beef tacos sometimes do. This is very essential for me personally and probably many of you as well, because you are going to keep eating and eating not thinking about the consequences when you return home, and substitution of fish tacos for beef tacos will probably also save your bathroom from being destroyed.
Another aspect of this “fish taco” is that there are a vast array of variations on the same main ingredient. You can go with some mahi, tilapia, snapper, flounder, and so many more. That being said an lightly grilled white fish is the way to go in fish tacos. This way you have the fresh light taste and without frying the fish you can actually have something healthy. It’s essential to have that fresh identity in the fish taco it really just ties everything together so well.
Ingredients for that fresh taste
- Nice light warm tortilla
- Grilled white fish
- Fresh pico de gallo or mango salsa (either is a good call, but typically not together)
- Sliced avocado
- Hint of lime
