Its Finally here. The day we’ve been waiting 371 days for: Super Bowl 50.
It was a very strange season. The whole league was decimated by injuries. At the end of the day, the team that was less banged up ultimately got the win. We’ve seen Hail Mary’s, field goals returned for touchdowns, and too many Johnny Manziel headlines. But, the day is finally here, and its the perfect matchup. This Super Bowl is featuring the Carolina Panthers who have been dominant all year with their offense, and the Denver Broncos, who have had an interesting year to say the least. It will be the young MVP against the old veteran. Old glory versus the new stud. The best offense against the best defense. It doesn’t get much better than this.
Unfortunately, none of our writer’s favorite teams will be featured in this years Super Bowl. However, that isn’t going to get in the way of us breaking down the game and making our educated predictions.
With an incredible amount of different factors that have potential to change the game, its difficult to gage exactly how the game will play out. You never know when it comes to the Super Bowl, all we know is that its going to be a hell of a game.
Heres how our writers believe the game is going to go:
Alex: Carolina is notorious for coming out guns blazing. Despite Denver’s defense, I don’t think they’ll be able to slow down Cam Newton and the Panthers. The Panthers will go up early, the Broncos will come back to make it interesting, but Denver’s Offense wont be able to put up enough points if it comes to a back and forth shoot out. Panthers will slow down in the second half but not enough for Denver to capitalize.
Jack: Panthers go up early as they usually do and the Broncos wont be able to recover. Peyton wont be able to get the deep balls going and will fall short of coming back.
Joe: The Bronco’s defense is going to show up and show the newly named MVP whose boss. CJ Anderson is going to be exposed by the Bronco’s defense and the Panthers defensive line is going to prove that they’re overrated.
Kyle: Everyone on the Broncos team is playing for one man; Peyton Manning. With the amount of momentum and passion the Broncos are playing with, the Panthers wont be able to slow them down.
Lincoln: Panthers are clearly the better team. Cam Newton’s dual threat ability won him an MVP and its going to win him a championship.
Zach: Panther’s defense is better than people give them credit for. While the Denver defense may have some luck in slowing down Cam, the Panther’s defense is going to shut down Manning and the Broncos.
