Sam Bradford was not happy with the Eagles organization after they finalized their draft pick trade with the Cleveland Browns. The blockbuster trade granted the Eagles the Browns’ no. 2 pick in exchange for a multitude of future picks.
Whats interesting however, is that the Eagles were quoted saying, “Sam Bradford will be our starting quarterback.” Yet, it appears that the Eagles want a new quarterback wearing green and white, without the last name Bradford.
With the no. 2 pick of the draft, the Eagles will likely shop for one of the top two prospects in this year’s draft; Jared Goff or Carson Wentz. Both are quarterbacks.
After signing a two year $22 million contract, you’d think Sam Bradford wouldn’t mind the chatter. However, after the Eagles stated Bradford was their starter, its not surprsing that the Eagles’ latest move would aggravate him.
Its clear that the Eagles traded up to get a new quarterback so what exactly was the point of signing Bradford? Thats probably what Bradford is thinking. Bradford was shocked to say the least when he first heard the news, and it appears to have escalated.
Bradford didn’t necessarily prove himself last year as he was hurt and played mediocre when he wasn’t. So he should probably be content with his contract. So the fact that Eagles want a new quarterback shouldn’t surprise him. But, to be fair, its not professional to tell an NFL player one thing, then act in a manner that directly negates that. Whether or not thats a reason to demand a trade, it seems like its going to happen regardless.
Whats done is done and Bradford wants out. He wants to move somewhere where he will be guaranteed a starting spot where he can shine ( or try ). So from this point on, the search for Bradford’s new home is on. Where he will end up? We don’t know. All we know is that he isn’t happy with the Eagles, and he’s most likely packing his bags.
