Despite never having a maple frosted donut I feel like this is a fairly common item. It is scoring pretty low in this category, especially compared to some of the wilder items that are in store for me down the road. Dunks isn’t crossing any major boundaries with maple frosting so that’s why it’s staying as a safe 3.
If you’re looking for a snack that will hold you over for a long period of time, this is not the call. This donut was so tiny and very light so I was feeling ready to eat about 5 more. To be fair though, I really don’t think you’re eating a donut to satisfy your hunger for a while.
This donut isn’t a trailblazer, but it sure is electric in the donut world. The maple packs a punch right off the bat and leaves you wanting another bite. Maple donuts aren’t your best friend, but they’re nice to have around every once in a while.
I went into this taste test unsure about maple, but that sure was put to rest quick. Maple frosted for sure gets the job done, with I rich taste at the beginning that mellows out as you chew. The only knock I have on maple is how sweet it was. As a guy with a relatively small sweet tooth the maple frosting was a bit too sugary for my liking, and that’s why I’m looking forward to the savory snacks.
